First and foremost, our most important service to the greater Christian community is prayer. Forms for prayer requests are often sent to members of our mailing list. As we receive your prayer request for the living, or for those who have fallen asleep in the Lord, we will gladly include those individuals in the prayer life of our community. DOXA is another service we provide to the public. DOXA is the quarterly publication of St. Michael's Skete, Caņones, New Mexico, under the omophorion of His Eminence Dmitri of Dallas and the South (OCA). The quarterly began publication in 1984 and celebrated its 20th anniversary issue in Spring, 2004. Initially, DOXA was instituted as the parish paper of St. Gregory Palamas Orthodox Church, in Flemington, New Jersey. DOXA moved with the founder/editor from New Jersey to New Mexico in 1989, and became an independent review "serving the Orthodox Church." When the founder became a monk in the autumn of 1992, at the urging both of his abbot and of Archbishop Dmitri, DOXA became the quarterly publication of St. Michael's Skete. DOXA is now produced by the combined efforts of the whole community. The magazine is entirely supported by readers' donations. If you would like to see archived downloadable copies of DOXA in PDF format, please click on the picture below or click on the link in the table of contents to your left. Saint Michael's Skete also has a guesthouse for people who would like to visit. For more information please visit our Guest House page. In order not to have too many visitors at a time, we ask that you call in advance to schedule your visit. Please direct all correspondence related to the guesthouse to Hieromonk John, who also serves as quartermaster in addition to his other duties.
